Cafeteria Manager Goldsboro, North Carolina

    Responsible for the daily operations of the company kitchen and cafeteria.  

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for ordering, shopping and stocking food supplies and pantry for the preparation of daily menu items.
    • Responsible for preparing daily breakfast and lunch items for employees and their guests.
    • Responsible for the daily cleaning and organizing of the kitchen, dining room and storage areas used for food.
    • Responsible for tracking and submitting employee deductions to the accounting department.
    • Provides customer service to all employees and guests.
    • Responsible for using safe food handling procedures.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Pay Range: $10-$12 DOE | Shifts: First Shift | Hours: Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm


Requirements

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of culinary skills, menu development and food purchasing skills preferred.  Basic computer skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Must have valid driver’s license.

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    Oral and written communication skills for contact with fellow employees, other team members and upper management. Ability to operate kitchen equipment, such as those used for food preparation or storage. Able to address and/or recommend solutions to kitchen related equipment or food supply problems or needs.

    MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in written or diagram form.  Reasoning; dealing with problems involving a few variables in standard situations.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and/or fingers on a regular basis. The employee uses handle controls and must be able to talk or hear. The employee is required to sit, squat or stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk for expensive periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The employee will be asked to drive a vehicle on a regular basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  Works mostly indoors and occasionally outdoors. Must be able to drive a vehicle for the purchase of food and beverages.
