Production Manager- Wilson, NC

    Wilson manufacturing company is looking an experienced production manager to organize and oversee the manufacturing of tarps and related products.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Coordinating with upper level management to formulate objectives and understand requirements
    • Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines
    • Monitor production to resolve issues
    • Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel
    • Determine amount of resources requred for jobs ahead while maintaining reserve
    • Approve and/or perform periodic maintenance work, request equipment purchasing, etc
    • Perform, assist and oversee annual invenory
    • Conduct quarterly safety inspections
    • Ensure output meets quality standards
    • Enforce health and safety measures
    • Report to upper management

Requirements

    • Proven experience as a production manager w/deep knowledge of production management
    • Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations, emphasis on OSHA
    • Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts
    • Experience in reporting on key production metrics
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Outstanding communication skills with leadership ability
    • excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
    • Strong decision making skills with a results-driven approach
    • Ability to read tape measure and figure square footage
    • Current driver license with clean driving record
    • Previous sewing industry experience is a plus

Production Supervisor

    Production Supervisors ( 2nd and 3rd shifts)

    • Promote plant safety through education of employees, participating in safety committee, enforce safety programs and provide incentives.
    • Assist in establishing product specifications and ensure that they are met by plant employees.
    • To service sales at 100% service goal and maintain productivity standards
    • Prepare annual manufacturing budget
    • Supervise month end inventory and assist in month end close as it relates to manufacturing.
    • Uphold company policies; to treat subordinate fairly and consistently, to review existing policies and make recommendations as required.
    • Suggest ideas for continuous improvements and changes in the work instructions, job descriptions and training needs.
    • Keep employees informed on factors relating to their work assignment, work progress and opportunity for advancement.
    • Establish and maintain productivity standards.
    • To constantly find ways to improve the operation and assist in cost analysis of plant improvements
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and assume Plant Manager's responsibilities in his/her absence.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • Experience in manufacturing management roles gained within consumer food production environments, with proven track record in leading manufacturing teams to improve continuously the efficiency of production methods and, ultimately, the quality of products.-Experience and exposure to regulatory inspections (AIB, OSHA, MILITARY, Health Dept., EPA, City & County Inspectors)
    • Experience with Quality Systems and Programs
    • Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices
    • Budget preparation and Cost analysis
    • Team management/leadership/development skills, including the ability to manage people in an organization matrix and get the best out of them, successful in building and mentoring high performance teams.
    • Experience with training and developing personnel
    • Able to perform simple analysis-Be able to walk long distances and to be on his/her feet for long periods of time
    • Able to work in dusty, noisy, hot, cold and small areas
    • Effectively communicate in Spanish and English both verbal and written (desirable)
    • Strong Computer Skills-Experience with Kronos and SAP a strong plus.

Requirements

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE SKILLS REQUIRED

    • Bachelor's degree in a Manufacturing Management, Industrial Engineering, Business or related field required.  Preferred 5 years of production experience in a manufacturing environment required. Bakery or food/beverage manufacturing preferred. With a minimum of 3 years of experience in a managerial capacity in a manufacturing environment required. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above.
